What Are the Best Alternatives to Qwoted?
Four services we could verify on their own pages do the same job as Qwoted, connecting experts with reporters' requests: Featured, HARO, Source of Sources and ProfNet. They differ in who pays, how requests arrive and who runs them. Two are linked: Featured owns HARO, and its Connectively site is a platform version of the HARO feed. Everything below comes from each service's own pages, read October 19, 2026.
| Service | Cost to an expert | How requests arrive | Run by | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Qwoted | Free (2 pitches/month); Pro $149/month; Teams custom | Request feed, real-time alerts, daily opportunities email | Qwoted, Inc. | Qwoted |
| Featured | Free; $39 to $299/month (monthly billing) | One app for journalist requests, podcasts, speaking and more | Featured | Featured |
| HARO (and Connectively) | Free | Daily email queries; Connectively shows the same queries in a platform | Featured | HARO |
| Source of Sources | Free | Email, up to three times a day | Peter Shankman | SOS |
| ProfNet | Fee, not published | Media leads matched to preferences | PR Newswire (Cision) | ProfNet |
What Is Qwoted, and What Does It Cost?
Qwoted is a network where journalists post requests for sources and experts and PR teams pitch them; its plans run from free to a $149-a-month Pro tier and a custom Teams plan. The pricing page lists Basic (free; 2 pitches a month; "2 Hour Delay" on responses), Pro ($149 a month; 35 pitches; "No Delay") and Teams ("Custom Pricing"; unlimited pitches). All three include an appearance in the reporter-facing expert database, real-time alerts and a daily opportunities email. Pro adds the events and awards database, pitch intelligence and opportunity research; Teams adds team functionality, white labeling, weekly activity reports, an administrative dashboard and premium support (Qwoted pricing). Its site has solution pages for journalists, newsrooms, podcasters, event organizers, PR teams and experts (Qwoted). Our head-to-head, Qwoted vs Featured, covers its rules on AI-written pitches.
What Do the Alternatives Cost?
Only Qwoted and Featured publish paid plan prices; HARO and Source of Sources are free, and ProfNet charges an unpublished fee. Featured's pricing page lists Free, Lite ($39 a month, or $29 a month "billed annually at $348"), Pro ($99, or $79 billed annually at $948) and Pro+ ($299, or $239 billed annually at $2,868). Team plans are Team Lite ($199 a month, or $159 billed annually), Team Pro ($499, or $399) and Team Pro+ ($1,499, or $1,199), each for up to 25 members, and Enterprise is "Custom pricing." Featured's FAQ answers "Do all plans include the same features?" with "Yes," saying plans differ in daily credits (Featured pricing).
US dollars per month
Source: Qwoted, "Qwoted Pricing – Free and Pro Plans for Experts & PR Pros"; Featured, "Plans & Pricing." Read October 19, 2026.
Plans meter different things: Qwoted limits pitches per month (Pro: 35), while Featured says every plan has the same features and only daily usage scales. Featured's annual billing is lower ($29, $79, $239 a month). Free plans ($0) are omitted. HARO and Source of Sources are free; ProfNet publishes no price.
The chart shows Qwoted's single paid individual tier priced between Featured's Pro and Pro+, but one meters pitches and the other daily AI usage, so price alone does not rank them.
ProfNet's experts FAQ says: "There is a fee to receive ProfNet queries and submit Expert Alerts, depending on the type of institution and the number of subscribers," and directs questions to a representative (ProfNet). We did not find a published amount.
How Does Featured Compare With Qwoted?
Featured is the closest like-for-like alternative: a paid app with a free tier that gathers many opportunity types in one place. Its home page invites users to "search, save, and respond to journalist requests, podcast invites, speaking gigs, and more," and its tool menu includes Find Journalist Requests, Find Podcasts, Find TV Newsrooms, Send Press Release, Find Backlinks and Boost AI Visibility (Featured). Its pricing page describes the Lite plan's example use as monitoring "HARO and similar feeds" (Featured pricing).
Fits: experts and small agencies who want volume on a small budget and every request feed in one place. Limit: the same product sells backlinks, which are paid links, not earned coverage; keep that work separate and disclosed. Where Qwoted differs: a narrower request network with a pitch count rather than an AI-usage meter.
What About HARO and Connectively?
HARO is free again and run by Featured: its site offers "free daily media queries" and is "Powered by Featured" (HARO). Our earlier guide, What Happened to HARO, sets out the history: Cision rebranded HARO as Connectively, shut that platform on December 9, 2024, and Featured.com announced it had acquired HARO on April 16, 2025.
The Connectively name is back under Featured. Its HARO page says "Featured owns and operates Help a Reporter Out," that Connectively members "see HARO queries the moment they go live - before the inbox floods," and that it is "Free to join. No credit card required" (Connectively). The HARO home page links to it with "Want HARO queries in a platform? Try Connectively."
Fits: sources who want free requests by email or in a simple dashboard. Limit: an open, free digest draws many competing replies, including from link builders, as our HARO guide explains, so selective, on-topic answers matter more than speed.
How Does Source of Sources Compare?
Source of Sources (SOS) is a free email list run by Peter Shankman, who introduces himself on the site as "founder of Help a Reporter Out (HARO) and now Source of Sources (SOS)." Sources get "Up to three times a day" an email of journalist queries and reply directly to the reporter. The site is blunt: "ONLY REPLY IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE TO ADD," and off-topic pitches get a source removed, "No exceptions, no appeals." It says "This list doesn't cost a dime" and asks sources to consider donating to animal charities or to give the list "a backlink or a shout out on Social Media" (Source of Sources).
Fits: experts who want free access and will answer only what they know. Limit: the page gives no subscriber, journalist or query-volume figures, and there is no dashboard or team tooling.
How Does ProfNet Compare?
ProfNet is PR Newswire's paid expert-matching service; its pages carry a Cision US Inc. copyright and the line "A Cision company." Experts subscribe, set preferences and create expert profiles, and the page says "Journalists and bloggers send thousands of story leads every month to ProfNet users." Journalists sign up free; the page notes "the online 'Submit a ProfNet query' form has been removed," so they now log in or register to submit a query (ProfNet).
Fits: universities, hospitals and companies that already buy from PR Newswire and want leads routed to several staff experts. Limit: pricing requires a sales conversation, and "thousands of story leads" is the vendor's own unaudited figure.
What Happened to Help a B2B Writer?
Help a B2B Writer's old address, helpab2bwriter.com, now returns a permanent (301) redirect to mentionmatch.com. MentionMatch describes itself as "Connecting B2B writers with expert sources": writers submit requests for "quotes, anecdotes, data and expertise," and matching sources receive them by email. Its banner says "We're launching soon," and its footer says it is made by Superpath. The FAQ lists "Is this Help a B2B Writer?" and "Is MentionMatch free?" but the answers did not display when we read the page (MentionMatch). Because the service describes itself as not yet launched, we do not count it as an alternative or say what it will cost.
Where Is Qwoted Still the Better Choice?
Qwoted is still the better choice for a PR team or agency that wants a published, pitch-metered price list and team controls inside one request network. Its free tier is usable for testing, Pro is a single flat price, and Teams adds white labeling, weekly activity reports and an administrative dashboard (Qwoted pricing). Of the alternatives, only Featured publishes team prices; HARO and Source of Sources have no team tooling on the pages we read, and ProfNet quotes privately.
Qwoted's free tier is also more limited than the free options: two pitches a month with a two-hour delay, against HARO and Source of Sources, which state no pitch cap on the pages we read.
Who Should Choose Which?
| If you are... | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| An expert with no budget | HARO or Source of Sources | Both are free to sources |
| A solo expert who wants volume | Featured Lite or Pro | Published low entry prices; one app for many feeds |
| An agency or in-house PR team | Qwoted Teams or a Featured team plan | Team controls; compare a trial of each |
| An institution already buying from PR Newswire | ProfNet | Leads routed to several staff experts; quote-based |
| A B2B expert | Watch MentionMatch | Says it is launching soon |
This is our recommendation, not any vendor's claim. Whichever you use, a reply is a pitch, and the journalist decides; How to Pitch a Journalist by Email covers the craft.
Final Verdict: Which Qwoted Alternative Is Best?
There is no single winner. Featured is the closest like-for-like product with published prices and a free tier; HARO and Source of Sources are the free options; ProfNet suits institutions already buying from PR Newswire. Qwoted keeps its edge on a clear, pitch-metered price list and team tooling. None of these services promises a quote, and none of their pages we read claims to.

Sources and Methodology
This guide is built from each service's own pricing, home and FAQ pages, read October 19, 2026, and our earlier HARO and Qwoted-vs-Featured guides for history. helpareporter.com and connectively.us returned HTTP 429 (rate limit) to automated fetches and were read in a Chrome browser; the other pages were fetched directly. Prices are U.S. dollars, exclude tax and change often, and plans meter different things. The "Who Should Choose Which" table is our recommendation. We did not test response rates, request volume or placement outcomes.
