Best Alternatives to Rephonic in 2026: 5 Podcast Research and Booking Tools Compared by Price and Data

Rephonic costs $99, $149 or $299 a month in October 2026; its main alternatives are Podscan (from $100 a month), Podchaser (Pro by quote), Listen Notes (free search), PodMatch and Magellan AI. Rephonic is a podcast research and outreach tool that says it covers “more than four million podcasts,” with listener estimates and contact details for pitching. The alternatives sell different slices of podcast data: monitoring, a contact database, a developer feed, a guest-matching network and advertiser analytics. Rephonic remains the better fit for a team that wants research, contacts and outreach in one tool at a published price.

What Are the Best Alternatives to Rephonic in 2026?

Five tools we could verify on their own pages overlap with Rephonic: Podscan, Podchaser, Listen Notes, PodMatch and Magellan AI. They overlap only in part, because each sells a different slice of podcast data, so the right choice depends on whether you are pitching shows, tracking mentions, building software or buying ads.

What Do the Alternatives to Rephonic Cost?

For a research seat, Rephonic Light ($99 a month) and Podscan Premium ($100) are the cheapest published entry points. Podchaser Pro and Magellan AI are sold by quote, Listen Notes and Podchaser publish developer API prices, and PodMatch’s lower prices buy matching, not research.

Monthly-billing prices only; annual billing is lower where offered. The products are not like for like: Podchaser and Listen Notes figures are developer API plans (Listen Notes’ $200 is a base fee with per-request overage), PodMatch is a guest-matching subscription, and Rephonic and Podscan are research seats. Not charted: Podscan Advanced ($2,500) and Enterprise (from $5,000), Podchaser API Starter ($30), Podchaser Pro and Magellan AI (no published price).

The chart shows the research seats clustered between $99 and $299 a month, with API and matching plans on either side. Our reading, not a vendor claim: for a one-person pitching effort, compare search quotas and exports first (Rephonic Light caps searches at 100 a month), then the monthly figure.

What Is Rephonic, and Where Does It Still Win?

Rephonic is a self-serve research and outreach tool for pitching podcasts. Its home page offers “listener demographics and podcast information across more than four million podcasts,” lists data points including listener numbers, gender skew, engagement and audience location, says users can “Get the contact info you need to reach out fast including email addresses and social media accounts,” and says pitches can be sent “from your own email account or CRM in a couple of clicks” (Rephonic).

The plans scale by searches, users, campaigns and connected inboxes: Light has 1 user, 100 searches, 3 campaigns and 1 inbox; Standard 5 users, 500 searches, 50 campaigns, 3 inboxes and 20 concierge credits; Business 10 users, unlimited searches and campaigns, 5 inboxes, 50 concierge credits and priority support. “The quota is shared with everyone on your team” and resets on the billing day, and the FAQ says exporting campaigns and the concierge service are not available on the free trial (Rephonic pricing).

Rephonic still wins for a team that wants research, contacts and sending in one place at a published price; of the alternatives, only Podchaser Pro offers a comparable contact database, and it is sold by quote. Its limit: the home page does not say where its listener figures come from, so treat them as estimates and check them against the show’s own media kit.

Is Podscan a Good Rephonic Alternative?

Podscan fits teams that want to monitor what podcasts say, not only find shows to pitch. Its pricing page cites “73,845,022+ indexed episodes” and prices plans by alerts, teams and reports: Premium ($100 a month, 50 alerts, 3 teams, 5 members, 10 reports a month, full contact data), Professional ($200, 500 alerts, up to 20 members, 30 reports, estimated demographics) and Advanced ($2,500), with Enterprise from $5,000 a month. Annual billing includes two months free (Podscan pricing).

It also sells a $20 Day Pass (24 hours of Premium access) and a $50 Research Pass (72 hours), and says a company that verifies its domain with one DNS record gets “Premium-level brand monitoring at no charge,” which it can revoke. Fits: communications teams tracking podcast mentions, and one-off research sprints. Limit: it is built around monitoring rather than a pitching workflow.

What Does Podchaser Offer?

Podchaser is the closest match to Rephonic’s data, but its Pro product is sold by quote. The Pro page promises “Podcast Reach, Demographics, & Contacts at Your Fingertips,” with listener demographics, a proprietary “Power Score,” sponsor data, ad rate-card estimates, brand-safety metrics and contact exports. Its FAQ answers “How much does Podchaser Pro cost?” with “Pricing depends on your team’s needs and data usage” and asks visitors to schedule a demo (Podchaser Pro).

Its API does publish prices: Starter at $30 a month (1,000 requests a month) and Professional at $300 a month (10,000 requests), or $25 and $240 a month billed annually (Podchaser API). Fits: agencies that also buy ads and want sponsor data. Limit: no published price for the Pro research product.

What Does Listen Notes Offer?

Listen Notes is a podcast search engine with a paid developer API. The public site lets anyone “Search podcast show notes and audio transcripts by people, places, or topics” (Listen Notes), a free way to find episodes that mention a person or company.

Its API pricing page lists 3,825,429 podcasts and 195,900,218 episodes on the day we read it. The Free plan allows 150 requests a month and up to 30 results per query; Pro charges a “$200 for 1+ requests” base fee covering the first 5,000 requests, then $1.60 per extra 1,000 up to 1,000,000, with transcripts included; Enterprise is billed annually (Listen Notes API pricing). Limit: no outreach tools; it is a data feed for building software.

Is PodMatch an Alternative to Rephonic?

Only partly: PodMatch matches guests with hosts rather than selling research data. Its pricing page lists Standard Guest at $32 a month, Standard Host at $6, Standard Both at $38 and Professional at $64, plus an Agency plan at “$64/month (includes 2 clients)” and “$32.00/month for each additional managed client.” Guest plans include a public guest one-sheet, unlimited matches and automation tools; Professional adds premium search filters and lets guests view hosts’ estimated download statistics (PodMatch pricing).

If the goal is being booked rather than cold-pitching shows, see Best Alternatives to PodMatch and How to Pitch Yourself as a Podcast Guest.

What About Magellan AI?

Magellan AI serves advertisers and agencies, not guest bookers. Its home page lists competitive intelligence, media planning, ad verification, several attribution products and brand safety, publishes no prices, and says “Typical demos run 20 - 30 minutes” (Magellan AI). It is the option for a company buying podcast ads; it is not a pitching tool.

Where Is Rephonic Still the Better Choice?

Rephonic is still the better choice for a founder, publicist or small team that wants to find shows, see estimated audiences, get contacts and send pitches without a sales call. It is the only tool here that publishes prices for a research-plus-contacts seat and includes outreach. Podscan is better for monitoring, Podchaser for sponsor and ad data, Listen Notes for free manual searching or software, PodMatch for matching, and Magellan AI for ad buying.

Final Verdict: Which Rephonic Alternative Is Best?

There is no single winner, because the five tools solve different problems. Podchaser is the closest on data but sells Pro by quote; Podscan is the closest on published price but centers on monitoring; Listen Notes is the free starting point. Rephonic keeps its edge as a published-price, all-in-one research and outreach seat.

This guide is built from each vendor’s own pricing, product and FAQ pages, read October 20, 2026. PodMatch and Podchaser pages were read in a Chrome browser because their prices load in the page or block automated fetches; Podchaser’s Pro FAQ answer was read from the page’s own FAQ markup.
