Website brief

Tell us about the site. We rebuild it.

This is the brief we plan and build your new website from: what you do, what the site needs to achieve, the pages you want, examples you like, and who hosts it today. About fifteen minutes. Your project timeline starts the day this is complete. Please do not include passwords; we arrange access with you at kickoff.

About you and the business

The one you used at checkout, so we can match this brief to your order.
Exactly as it should appear on the site.
If you do not have a site yet, write “none”.
Two or three sentences in plain language. Who you help, and how.
02

Goals

For example: book more discovery calls, look credible to editors and podcast hosts after a feature, explain a new offer, sell a speaking slot.
Book a call, fill in a form, buy, download, email you. One main action.
The people you want to reach, in your own words.
Anything you already know you dislike, or that clients have mentioned.
03

Pages and content

For example: Home, About, Services, Contact, Press or Media, FAQ. Landing Page is one page; Core Site is 4 to 5; Authority Site is up to 10.
Do you have text you want kept, or should we rework what is on your current site? Anything that must be said, or never said?
Links to placements, episodes and talks, one per line. Used for the press and media page on the Authority Site.
04

Look and feel

Two or three links, and what you like about each. They do not have to be in your industry.
Tell us what you have, and paste a link to a shared folder (Google Drive, Dropbox) with your logo files, brand colours, headshots and photos. No folder yet? Say so and we will ask at kickoff.
05

Domain and hosting

For example: WordPress on Bluehost, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, GoDaddy. “Not sure” is a fine answer.
GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google or Squarespace Domains, Cloudflare. “Not sure” is fine.
Name and email of the person who can add us as a user or collaborator. Please do not put passwords in this form. At kickoff we arrange access with you securely.
06

Timing and sign-off

A date, an event, or “no fixed date”.
The person who signs off design and copy. Fewer approvers means a faster launch.

We reply within one business day to schedule kickoff. Your answers are used to plan and build your site, and nothing else.
